Talking Points:
Dunboyne got off to a great start with an early goal from Vicki Wall, this was followed by scores from fiona o neill and Shelly Melia & Orla Flanagan, we were enjoying a lot of possession and could have had another score or two. Towards the middle of the half, Royal Gaels started to get a foothold in the game and were rewarded with 2 goals in quick succession leaving only a score between the teams. Dunboyne responded well and finished the half with a 2 pt lead. We lost Elaine Doyne to injury just before the break. The 2nd half saw Aoife Thompson & Rachel Mc Dermott switch positions, and both acquitted themselves well with Aoife and Fiona o\'Neill linking up well. Scores were handed to come by in the 2nd half, but Dunboyne opened up a 5 pt lead and were working very hard around the middle third of the field turning over possession on number of occasions. We were awarded a penalty but unfortunately the strike just shaved the post. With 6 minutes injury to be played Royal Gaels were putting us under pressure but we stood firm to record our second league victory. Great to see Alison Jones, Annie Moffatt and Aoife Thompson back from injury

ABOUT US

Established in 1902 by Bob O’Keeffe, the hurling section of the club has been in existence for more than 100 years. It wasn’t until the late 1940s that the game of Gaelic Football was properly organised within the club and in 1952 it became known as St. Peter’s GAA Club. Today both football and hurling, along with the camogie and ladies football sections, are thriving.
