Talking Points:
On a a lovely evening for football and with the rookie in great nick, Dunboyne registered our 3rd league win in a tightly fought contest with a very good boardsmill team. We got off to a good start with the opening score of the game. But boardsmill quickly got into their stride and open up a 3 pt lead, and could have been further ahead after 20 mins. Dunboyne started to get the ball in their hands and trailed by 5-3 coming to half time. Just before the break boardsmill had a shot crash off the bar and eventually got a point to lead by 3 at half time. The second half saw a different Dunboyne team, with all O player upping their game and creating plenty of chances. It took a while to get our first score but we then scored1 -6 to take a strong lead. Once again boardsmill came back to get 3 pts on the trot but we again finished strongly with 2 good points to ensure the win. The team worked really hard in the 2nd half and deserved the win, with great pressure on the boardsmill players in possession.

ABOUT US

Established in 1902 by Bob O’Keeffe, the hurling section of the club has been in existence for more than 100 years. It wasn’t until the late 1940s that the game of Gaelic Football was properly organised within the club and in 1952 it became known as St. Peter’s GAA Club. Today both football and hurling, along with the camogie and ladies football sections, are thriving.
